Leaders for "Life"
Are you looking to make a difference in your school
community and beyond? Are you looking for tangible ways to share your goods?
Let me introduce you to some brief reflections that will help you show and
share your goods. Not just in school, but FOR LIFE!!!!
Consider the following 3 T’s in your life…

Time
The decision to give of our time is an important one.
It is a sure sign of our movement towards full Christian maturity when
we see ourselves beginning to grow in our willingness to move beyond
ourselves, identify the needs of others and find ways that we can meet
those needs through the gifts God has given us. As stewards of Christ,
the gift of time and what we do with it can be a rich source of
reflection on the deeper meaning of our personal relationship with God
and others. As you reflect on this decision to give of your time, you
may want to consider the following questions.
- Who am I doing this for?
- Who will support me in this?
- What benefits does my time offer for me as well
as for those around me?
- What is my motivation in deciding to give of my
time?
- Where might this commitment most challenge me
as a person?
- Where might my time be used best in serving
others?
- Why give of myself?

Talent
Scripture teaches us that the church is like one body
with many parts, coming together to help support and compliment one
another in order to help build the Kingdom of God on Earth. Each of us
is uniquely gifted by God and is called to share those gifts with one
another. As we make the effort to respond to the call to serve, it is
helpful to spend some time reflecting on the special ways that we have
been blessed by God.
- What talents do I feel that I have been given
by God?
- Who helped me to discover and develop my
talents?
- Where can this talent be used to help those
around me?
- How can I use this talent to reach beyond
myself and reach out to others?

Treasure
With every effort we make to reach beyond ourselves
and share our time and talents, we grow and develop in many ways. Each
new opportunity to give of ourselves brings with it the possibility of
expanding our skills and experience. We develop new resources, or
"treasures," that result from putting our talents into action. In time,
these new treasures can lead to new opportunities to demonstrate
"steward leadership."
- What new things might sharing my talents bring
into my life?
- Where can I use my talents that might move me
beyond my "comfort zone"?
- Why is this kind of growth important?
