The agency provides residential services to adults with a developmental disability in Brampton, the old City of York, Scarborough and Woodbridge, helping each person reach his or her potential.

Our Place is a social centre for people with
mental health issues. Membership is free with a referral from a
psychiatrist, social worker, minister, etc. Our Place stresses the
experience of community through interaction with others. The agency
provides a peaceful, supportive and welcoming community to enable people
to involve themselves with others, and to find meaning and personal
growth in all areas of their lives. Our Place sees up to 100 clients a
day at its drop in centre in downtown Toronto.

St. Bernadette’s Family Resource Centre,integrates children, youth and adults with developmental and/or physical challenges, such as autism, Down’s syndrome, cerebral palsy and blindness, with their able peers. Parent relief programs and support groups are available to help care givers better face the challenges they encounter. On average, 350 children are served, youth and adults in the city of Toronto. Youth/adults ages 18+ are also served through a day program called, St. Jude’s Academy of the Arts.

Home care clients can access St. Elizabeth’s services in their home, workplace, school or location of choice, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Services include: palliative care, mental health,

Silent Voice Canada is the only organization in the GTA offering community and family-based support to deaf children and adults in American Sign Language (ASL). Social-recreational programs are offered in ASL for deaf children and instruction is available for hearing family members wishing to learn to communicate in ASL. Tax clinics and counselling assistance are also provided.

Street Haven serves the needs of women battling the challenges of mental, physical and emotional health problems, poverty, abuse, persistent street life, social isolation, under-housing and addictions. Aside from providing meals and a place to sleep, Street Haven has literacy and skills training programs to encourage them to live independently.

Catholic Cross-Cultural
Services provides immigrants and refugees with a number of services to make transition and integration to their new life in Canada easier. Programs include counselling, English language instruction, job search, settlement and education partnership in Toronto, as well as the private sponsorship of refugees. CCCS also offers programs such as : Violence Against
Women Awareness, House Search, and workshops on cross-cultural issues.

The Office’s main focus is the Private Refugee Sponsorship Program of the Archdiocese, which in the last year submitted cases to bring close to 150 refugees to Canada, thanks to the help of institutions within the Archdiocese participating in the program! The Office works to bring refugees overseas to Canada all the while fostering a sense of community within the Archdiocese, as parishes and religious orders are asked to work together to help newcomers integrate into Canadian society.
