Mary Centre supports people who have a
developmental disability with the goal of improving their quality of
life.
The agency provides residential services to adults
with a developmental disability in Brampton, the old City of York,
Scarborough and Woodbridge, helping each person reach his or her
potential.
The agency promotes independence and
individuality, encouraging community integration in all areas of a
person's life. The agency’s Catholic values represent who they are and
what they do, and thus have the mandate to serve people of all faiths.

Our Place

Our Place is a social centre for people with
mental health issues. Membership is free with a referral from a
psychiatrist, social worker, minister, etc. Our Place stresses the
experience of community through interaction with others. The agency
provides a peaceful, supportive and welcoming community to enable people
to involve themselves with others, and to find meaning and personal
growth in all areas of their lives. Our Place sees up to 100 clients a
day at its drop in centre in downtown Toronto.

St. Bernadette’s Family Resource Centre, a member
of Catholic Charities, is a non-profit, non-denominational,
community-based organization that has been integrating children, youth,
and adults with developmental and/or physical challenges.
St. Bernadette’s are open to everyone who needs
help, regardless of ability, financial status, nationality, ethnicity or
religion -currently serving a variety of individuals in the community.
Programs like Sara’s Corner, We Need a Break, Breakfast Club, After
School Club, March Break Camp and Summer Camp, serve children from birth
to age 12. Each of these services provides an inclusive environment
where children with developmental/physical challenges can interact with
their "able" peers. The parent relief programs and support groups enable
caregivers to better face the extraordinary challenges encountered in
raising a child with disabilities.
The agency’s aim is not only to provide supportive
services to caregivers, but to enhance and improve the quality of life
of each individual who takes part in any program. On average, 350
children are served, youth and adults in the city of Toronto.
Youth/adults ages 18+ are also served through a day program called, St.
Jude’s Academy of the Arts.

St. Elizabeth Health Care provides quality health
care services to thousands of people. Their visiting nurses continue to
provide dedicated service maintaining excellence in caring for various
needs - physical, emotional and spiritual.
Services include: palliative care, mental health,
gerontology and psychogeriatrics, mother and baby care, pediatric care,
home chemotherapy, home infusion therapy, advanced foot care,
respiratory care, enterostomal therapy. St. Elizabeth Health Care
provides services in Toronto, York, Durham, and Dufferin-Peel.

Silent Voice Canada serves deaf children, deaf
youth, deaf adults, as well as their families in a sign language
environment. Silent Voice is dedicated to improving communication and
relationships between deaf and hearing in families and in our community.
Silent Voice is an agency grounded in Catholic values offering services
to the whole community. We value and respect the dignity and worth of
all people.
Services:

worker is available for special assistance to deaf adults.

The Family
Communication Program - FCP is for families with a deaf family
member.

Tax Clinic - In
cooperation with the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants,
Silent Voice offers a tax clinic where deaf people receive help with
their annual Revenue Canada tax return.

The Saturday
Program - An extension of SLSP throughout the school year. The
program is structured for children aged 5 to 12 with all signing
abilities.

Sign Language
Summer Program (SLSP) - SLSP is a summer day camp in American Sign
Language for deaf children and hearing children aged 6 to 14 with all
signing abilities.

The Youth Program -
Silent Voice offers an ongoing program to Deaf Youth over the age
of 13.

Street Haven was founded in 1965 by Peggy Ann Walpole as a shelter and drop-in centre
for women. Located in downtown Toronto, Street Haven provides a 22 bed shelter and offers
meals, clothing, a health clinic, counselling, addiction support groups, recreation and
leisure activities as well as computer training and literacy skills to any woman who needs
help. Street Haven, through various programs, always strives to achieve the goal of women
helping other women.
